Yes, when I first went to New Orleans, mid 1980s, there was a vintage copy in the downtown Library, across from City Hall. The next time I went in there, it was gone, forever as it turned out.

Not much later, I was over at the LSU library, Baton Rouge, and they had one. I xeroxed the whole book. Good thing, because next time it was gone.

I know one of you guys still has those books!

Nice cross section of mid '60s schematics in there too.

It appears the stage was set when Jack Darr, Ouachita Radio Service, published an article "Musical Instrument Amplifiers" in "Service" way back in June, 1951 that shows some real early Jensen-equipped Gibsons and opens with the following line: "With string music more popular than ever, thanks in part to the mounting enthusiasm for hill-billy type of music, the favorite feature of these instruments, electronic amplifiers, has become an extremely important factor."

Course you don't get the schematics. jklutherie sold me a copy for about $30 which is a reprint of the original. It's got some hard to find solid state schematics for things like this that behave badly
