got mule?

My local record store finally got Gov't Mule/Deepest End in today; 2 CD's and 1 3+-hour DVD.

The DVD is really good, great playing & players, lots of great gear shots & equipment. Warren's still doing the Diaz & Soldano gain-y gain-gain thing, but his tone isn't nearly as OD'd as I remember it.

Cool for $23...

A friend of mine, John Sommers, has a Diaz head he runs through a HiWatt Cab. I think it sounds sweet, not overly-gainy at all. BTW- Warren's tone sounded good with the Allman's on freeview IMO...MJH

Been digging on some Mule for a little while now, (Thanks Ted!!!!) The Deep End, Live NYE 1999, and Gov't Mule. Really dig WH's heartfelt vocals, no-nonsense playing and the interaction of the whole band.

Count me in as a fan!

There's some mad 6 degrees of separation in there.Brian Henneman,Bottle Rockets front man, used to be Uncle tupelo's guitar tech.
Somewhere out there is a tape of me playin Heard It On The X with Son Volt.Actually Jim from Son Volt played in my trio on and off for 3 years.
Me and Robert P.Kearns ,Bottle Rockets bassist, have a band callede JoB Cain that we hope to be recording soon.It just never ends

There's a Bottle Rockets record from a couple of years ago called Brand New Year that I thought was just awesome. It was co-produced by Eric "Roscoe" Ambel.
