Old Epiphone Devon Amp Filter Caps

Postby Gmi6 on Wed May 24, 2017 2:04 pm

I've had this in storage over 10+ years and now want to get her running.

I got it like this half gutted.

Does anyone know the filter caps needed or have a picture and or schematic?

This has 3 leads haning off the 5Y3 rectifier and 2 leads off the 2nd 6V6

thanks in advance

hi thanks for your response.

tried to upload the schematics but my quota has been reached which is odd. :?:

Anyway the schematic is easy to understand 5Y3, 2-6V6, 12AX7 with two inputs and only a Volume control.

I think i got it but the way it's wired from the factory, they seem to use the unused pins as terminals not like the gibson's.

My filter caps were removed i just need to install them the way they were which is hard to understand the way it's wired.

Maybe i'll try uploading again later.

thanks

My quota is reach since long time too . How I can reset or erase all post I follow ??

I tried to find how. read FAQ ; nothing, how I can write to administrators ?

Schematic; write the link if you have one; You find one I understand !
To me this is a easy amp to fix.

Unused pins as terminal; I see this often

The Epiphone Devon is the same amp as the Gibson GA-8. The two 6V6's are in parallel. The filters are 20uf@450v off of the first node, or rectifier, and pair of 10uf@450v for the second and third node.

Ok, thanks guys.

Strat, I'll check with admin. I did notice a file share download popup now when I went to sign in.
I'll check on that, I don't like downloading a program without knowing, but this may let me attach pics.

Slider, thanks for the filter cap info and location.

Kool, thanks
