Hi all, can anyone give me any info on how Gibson put there truss rods in in the late 50s? I'm working from the Bartlett plans but they just show it as a straight line that tapers slightly...is that really it? No curve like Fender did?

Since nobody else has answered - yes, the truss rod is straight. The slot is about 1/2" deep at the nut and 5/8" at the end of the tenon. Curved rods were introduced with the thinner necks in 1960.
