Sovtek MiG50

I can't find a thread for Russian amps - so I'll post here.

I just got mine back from Dennis Kager's repair shop in NJ.
This amp sounds amazing. I'm running it through an early Sound City 4x12 w/ stock eminence speakers.

I bought it used at Sam Ash a few years back for $50 8)

Anyone have a Sovtek MiG50?

8) Nah - this one's a keeper! He replaced the power tubes, replaced all the pots and some capacitors. Fixed some shoddy connections. This is the amp I've been looking for!

And here's a pic.

Pedals on the floor.

Boss TU2 Chromatic Tuner.
Fulltone OCD Overdrive
Ibanez AD9 Analog Delay
Boss TR2 Tremolo/Pan

I was going to put my EH Holy Grail in the chain but it's got a really nasty grounding hum.

Well, you will certainly get your money's worth out of that one, I should say. Seems all I have ever heard about the Sovteks was good. What kind of speakers are you running in the old SC cab? (Btw-that tele sure has some nice-looking figure in the maple). 8)

The ability to play/make music is a gift that not everyone gets. Those of us who have it should use it.

Asimov:Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today — but the core of science fiction, its essence, the concept around which it revolves, has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.

It's the kind of thing Mississippi allows us to use for "primitive weapons" deer season

You must reload, Alvin. I'd hate to pay for a case of .45-70's.

And I love those little Marshall 4x10's. Sound pretty good and easier on the back.
