60th Birthday

Postby Jamie on Wed May 20, 2015 5:57 pm

My son surprised me with one of his sketches on my 60th. Really blessed by this, it was taken from a photo from about 75 or so. My son is a professor at Cinci Art Academy and has sold works all over the world. He's quite popular in the arts. Anyhow, thought I'd share this sketch, it really brought back some good memories..;)

He took it from this old photo. The detail and shading is amazing.

That's so cool!

My art talent is best described as beginning cartoonist, lol... I'm always so impressed by someone who has that talent.

I've 'cheated' art before just by using a black and white negative in a slide projector. You just use a pencil and fill in the white and light gray spots till everything is the same gray color, when you turn the lights on and the projector off, you have a picture that looks stunning like the one of you playing, lol....

And Happy Belated Birthday Jamie!!!!

The ability to play/make music is a gift that not everyone gets. Those of us who have it should use it.

Asimov:Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today — but the core of science fiction, its essence, the concept around which it revolves, has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.

Thanks U1, much appreciated guys. I just thought I'd share a piece of Jimmy's works. He didn't use a projector..;)

Clever use of a "Camera Obscura" and a pencil to record the image. Camera Obscura was a precursor to photography.

Thanks Vez and all.. We are very proud of him, he's a workaholic for sure. He's really established himself as a renaissance artist with works sold to private collectors and museums all over the world. His portraits are amazing.. My wife is also an artist by trade, he definitely got it from mom.

It's interesting to see how his works evolved over the years.
