Working order", although guts of one of the filter caps are blown out. Main things I am wondering about is the wiring being messy even though the joints are inked so no reason why it should have been stirred up, plus loads of solder on the chassis like something else was in there and grounded in the 'wherever is closest that solder will stick' MKIV Sound City style. Standard unsympathetic work has gone on in there too.

That one cap is leaching but not blown yet, could explode at any time though. I have a hard time believing

in the state that amp is in currently. Still, she seems all there and if it was listed on this side of the pond I'd be tempted to give her a go and set things right. :wink:

Yes worrying sign, but fair does it is sold as a fixer upper 8) .

I am slightly alarmed by the huge number of original cf resistors that have been replaced and had fake laquer applied to the joints, cant remember having seen a Hiwatt with so many that have 'failed'.
All bleeding stops.......eventually.
