this one looks genuine to me but I still wouldn't buy it just in case, also because of its condition...

I was offered this amplifier two days ago by a friend who is a reputable and trusted dealer, and I can confirm that it is all original and all is as he says it is.

I thought about buying it and getting rid of some other stuff to pay for it but I thought, "hang on, I am going to pay £7500 to be the custodian of this beast". One would be loathe to actually use it for fear of causing it to have to be repaired thus rendering it then non original. It would merely be stored and added to the insured items.

Whoever has this amp, and it will go,will keep it as a museum piece in a posh house with a load of other priceless and vintage guitars....er hold on.... c'est moi ! :shhh:

there's definitely something not right about it, RH is a genuine seller etc,but I doubt he could spot a fake and we all know Marshall who has looked at this one can't spot fakes either. I just can't believe someone would buy a practice amp and not use it in 40 odd years(especially one of the most rare and sought after practice amps!).

it is in the amplifier section of the LPF. so you need to be a member there and log-in to see it.

i think the long and short of it was that certain experts thought it was a very well made fake (far superior to the old MG stuff), dubius tag plate on the back and transformer. but the seller insisted it was genuine. everyone picking over tiny details.

C'mon Humbucking, I don't want to hurt anyone (I have exaggerated for sure), but I think that those kind of forum are often misleading, with people writing dozens of pages about mids on 59 PAF (I know for sure that those people never heard a 59 LP) and often the result is only loosing time on a keyboard, feeding a limitless GAS useful only for business, and not playing at all.
I think that this forum is way more "down to earth" and culturally speaking way more useful.
Peace.

I've got screen-shots of the good bits.

Did you see the last page? I should send you the email I referred to.
