I think the 2 listings tell the story rather clearly.

music ground are definitely back in full swing now, they seem to have shifted up a gear or two in the last couple of months. so be very careful on UK ebay, they appear to have numerous accounts and numerous aliases.

pretty sure that "ainternational" was selling the repro logos not so long ago, or something similar that linked them to MG. the id was familiar to me before the 18 watter came up for sale anyway.

"kimkay" is another one.

they have numerous accounts posing as different guitar shops, but the listings all follow a similar style and are quite easy to spot.

I don't think MG is up to much these days- A lot of the fake amps were made in the late 90s-mid 00's it seems.I'm fairly sure ainternational isn't related to MG,more of a victim if anything- and you can see he got it from cowboymod in oxford.
When your spending that sort of money you have to be very careful and really know your stuff before buying.

MG are as busy as ever, seriously.

Cowboymod is an innocent party who doesn't really know amps. He took it to Marshall, Phil did a "Jesus you can't be serious" authentication, per the letter, and it was sold. Ainternational bought it thinking he could make a turn......but didn't know what he was buying.

Cowboymod got the amp from a guy in Sheffield....

I know MG are busy buying and selling but I'm surprised to hear they are still making fakes.
Phill Wells shouldn't be writing letters of authentication if he can't spot as fake.
I also heard it came from Yorkshire,"from a roadie of a famous rock bank" apparently.

He can't help himself.

I don't know whether the Sheffield seller is a roadie, but I know he buys and sells a few amps.

It's so obviously a fake it's not funny. I'm told Phil is a genuinely lovely bloke who can fix anything.....but he's out of his depth if he can's see what's wrong with this amp.

now relisted with better pics of the fakery. nice of them.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1967-MARSHALL ... 2586bccea0

the speakers are classic music ground. T1221 stamped on the frame but they are clearly G12S speakers not G12M, and clearly not from 1967. They probably had the green magnet covers over the top originally too, to hide the smaller magnets but have since fell off.

the marshall letter is probably fake too in my opinion. anyone with a printer could whip one of those up.

The circuit is all over the shop!

Nothing like a stock 18w trem, lots of random parts and values.

Wonder where the mains tranny came from and still no pic of the OT :|

I really am amazed that they are still at it trying to dupe honest, but unaware people out of their hard-earned cash. More so,especially after the Italian affair-(did anyone ever go to jail on that?).....I would have thought the authorities would perhaps be a little more intense in their pursuit and prosecution of obvious counterfeiters and (mail?) fraudsters such as them?
