Fat sounding lead humbucker ?

Postby firebirdjake on Tue Nov 06, 2012 2:07 pm

Greetings, I recently built up a tele-gib with a '66 body, and an sd JB in the lead position. It sounds a little too bright in this guitar so far. Any suggestions for a humbucker that'd be a wee bit thicker sounding?
Much thanks for opinions shared!

LOL- after gigging with the guitar last weekend, it seems the pickup change is, well... not needed! It cut thru quite nicely over a LOUD drummer thru a half stack, and worked admirably with a less aggressive drummer thru a small-mid sized combo amp also.

Got to love that...
