Hi ,
I have a Sound City combo that I'm very pleased with. The only problem is no one can tell me it's age .The model is SC120r. There are inputs for guitar, bass and organ. The tolex, grille and fascia are black with red writing and a sound city crest.Any idea on it's history?
Thanks, Adam

????
Are you serious! Wow theres a new one.
If you could scan a picture I would love that. Also what would the serial number be? What kind of tubes(gotta have six of them)?
Does it follow the shape of the Concord Combo? What Speakers does it have for that power?
Taking a guess I would say it has to be a mid-seventies, we will see.
Cheers

Is it a valve combo or one of those East European designs from the 1980`s If it is valve I would love to see a photo of it as well

Hi Guys.
I have no idea about the valves, There are no vent holes but it is heavy.I'll have to figure out how to open it up !!
It doesn't even look like a sound city. it just has a black fascia with red lettering and sound city crest (similar style to an orange amp crest ).
No idea either on the speakers,no name but the backs are flat rather than say rounded like vox blues.
the mystery continues.
Either it's worthless or it's worth something. What ever it's agreat amp.
P.S. W orking on photos.

WOW! Zombie thread.
The OP was back in '01, and I do not think that many of the repsonders are around anymore.
There are schematics for the 120 at SoundCitySite.com
There is not an authoritative schematic available on that, or any other, site of which I am aware for the 120R.
In fact, until you dragged this thread up I had never heard of a Sound City 120 combo of any sort.
I believe that there were some eastern european "Sound City" branded amps that were not actually DA or DMI products.
Sorry...I cannot offer you any resources to help with that amp, but if anyone DOES have anything please let me know as well.

A missioned across town to check out a Sound City 120 combo in the Cash Converters, turned out to be one of the European solid state jobs. Left it, didn't try it to see if it was actually good, just skipped straight to disappointed.
