Noisy Boss VB-2

Some like 'em and some don't, but I bet everyone has at least a couple — Analog Delay, Digital Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tube Overdrive, Transistor Overdrive, Fuzz, Octave Fuzz, Tremolo, Vibrato, Compressor and the list goes on!

Noisy Boss VB-2

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experience with the VB-2. I bought one recently and it's excellent, but I'm just wondering if it's supposed to induce a bit of white noise? When the mode switch is in bypass its dead quiet, but as soon as I switch it to latch or unlatch, this white noise hissing starts. Kind of similar to a compressor when it's really ramped up. The noise occurs even when the pedal is off. Is this normal for these or is mine having issues? If so is there anythign I can do to fix it? Thanks for the help.

Mine is the same.

Nice vibrato but noisy and takes a bit of the top end off too.

I'm thinking about asking a pedal maker here in Sweden to build me a quieter MXR sized one, minus the latch function, true bypass and maybe with a tone control. I'd also like the rate to be able to go a lot slower.

It never ends...
