built a pedal and could use some help

Some like 'em and some don't, but I bet everyone has at least a couple — Analog Delay, Digital Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Tube Overdrive, Transistor Overdrive, Fuzz, Octave Fuzz, Tremolo, Vibrato, Compressor and the list goes on!

i built a tremolo pedal. it works well....except when i click the switch to go into "bypass" mode.... you can still hear the tremolo, just a bit subdued. kinda like it's bleeding over.

all my AC and DC voltages are on the money...according to the supplied instructions. Maybe a defective DPDT switch?? Not real sure what to do.

Also wondering if the 1/4" output jack should have a wire to ground. None shown on instructions, however.

Thank you for any suggestions!

I have ideas, but it is hard to troubleshoot something which you have never seen.
pics and a schematic would help

just off the cuff I would think that you have a bad switch or it is not wired correctly
also there are places to put resistors just to mitigate switch click.
but, I cannot tell you WHERE to put them, or what values in the blind.

thanks for replying Papa Dog--- yeah, i hear ya. i'm waiting on a new footswitch. the one i used didn't have a nice strong "click" like another one i used.

it's a cheap, chinese switch..... i kinda suspect its defective. we'll see. certain it's wired up correctly otherwise.

how do i post photos on here? use "photobucket" or something like it?

photobucket is prolly the most common way to host pics.
at least for folks here on this forum.
i have a couple of web addresses and keep my pics on my own server.

I have been looking to source some decent non-Chinese 3pdt foot switches,
but no luck so far...most of what I have found are cheap and "consumable" like they do not expect them to last very long at all.

guess what?? bad switch!!! got the new one today- soldered it up an hour ago--- works fine!

this one is from taiwan....probably not as nice as a Carling...but seems sturdier than the chinese. $2.79 -hopefully, it'll last.

thanks for your input Papa Dog-- i appreciate it!
