It's a yellow Marshall SL 1969, priced at 11.999 usd.
I've found it quite funny.
The rarest but not the holy grail this time!

where do they pluck these insane prices from?

so because it has a different coloured tolex than normal, that makes it worth about 6 grand more than a normal coloured one? expensive tolex.

I suspect that head shell is from late '70 when they still had grey feet, but newer logo and handle with groove side up. Look at the shot from the back with the back panel removed. Note how the tolex dosn't wrap around to the inner surface of rim for the panel. Conclusive proof of later cab would come by removing the logo to see if there were ever wider spacing holes. The feet have been in different positions, so maybe there might have been dome feet originally which would make it even later.

I have pictures of that amp from about 4-5 years ago. It is indeed an original Canary Yellow Super Lead. As for pricing or value, who knows? If you need it, try finding another. It looks like the seller is accepting offers. I know of a couple of collectors back in the 1990's & early 2000's who only sought custom colors & this is the rarest. I am glad I only like black ones!

According to Vintage Guitar Price Guide a custom color can be worth little less than 30% more, for a Marshall SL, but not 3 or six times :D

I wonder what a full stack without questions/issues would go for?

If the stack is factory-original matched, you have to add 25% to the total value, then if the stack is banana yellow the value is more or less like a Trainwreck ( the word Trainwreck is a bomb on this forum  ).

Welcome to the retardedly overpriced Italian vintage gear market. I'm not sure what happened there but most of the quality gear from ex-Yugoslavian territory went there..
Vintage Marshalls, Fenders, Voxes, Hiwatts almost don't exist anymore in here because of that.. :POd:

well ... this is the 2nd yellow SL I've seen on the Bay in the past few years.

I also remember seeing a yellow major with a matching 4x15 cab about 12-13 years ago on the Bay. I figured it was a fake so I didn't buy it at the time. I really shoulda!

The word I've heard is that Marshall made 4 full stacks (2 SL and 2 SB) in yellow sometime in '69. All others ('70-74) were custom orders.

That said -- I collect custom colors exclusively and I would never pay 5-figures for a head. I think the max I'd go would be $4-5K even though this would be the crown jewel of my collection.

personally, I'd rather have a yellow BW straight cab than the head, but that's just me.

I remember that Major. After ebay a short time later I saw it at a show and is was legit and very clean. I have a photo of the one Kiss My Amp had in 1999. It was an SB from 1970 and like this one now it did not look very good. It seems the white and yellow tolex doesn't age well. The main detraction for me with this latest one is the mismatch between the box and the chassis.

The amp is not even in that great condition (gaffa tape on the indicator lamp, replaced screen resistors with MFs, bent panels, extra screw holes on the bottom :?
