Rare yes. £800 rare, mmmm, no thanks.

Would have to be a very cold day in a very warm place before I'd consider giving those guys any dough anyhow.

So how much do these usually fetch then? It appears to be in reasonable shape judging from the exterior. I'm no expert but I can't really imagine one selling for less than 650.00 £ in an auction with a 1£ starting bid. By the way, I've actually heard good things about MG, like the German chap that thought he'd paid for a MKII AC50 Foundation setup and found out it was a 63-ish brown cloth small head MKI version when he opened the parcel. Apparently, the MG guy sold this one on without ever having seen it, obviously assuming it to be a MKII. Selling things on without knowing them is no good thing per se of course... but if you were the customer in this case, I guess you wouldn't join in to the MG bashing.
Then again, the last time I was in the Denmark St. shop I was really disappointed myself, it all made a fairly halfhearted impression

Quite frankly -- the only reason to get a Marshall reverb unit is as a collector. They don't sound all that great.

You're better off with a Fender one truth be told

I had one some years ago and was pleasantly surprised with the sound. It also has a nice clean boost effect as well. I think I got about $750 for it in 2006. I wonder if the reverb/fuzz would be better.

Last one I saw that actually did sell went for £425.
Again, too much money in my opinion. A friends dad has had one forever, and quite frankly it sounds crap.

As for Denmark St, I find all the shops there disappointing. Although I did see a nice white Les Paul Custom (lefty) there once (think it was in Andy's), again for too much money though. And the damn thing weighed an absolute ton. I decided I was just too small for that one.

MG are plain flat out crooks. I'm sure there are many with good experiences. But there are some people around that can tell you stories from the inside. Not very nice people at all. I doubt that the London shop is responsible for any of the stuff that came out of Leeds though.
