Good cheap interfaces?!

Recording systems, Software, Microphones, plugins, computers that work, the best ways to capture the sound. A good place to start figuring out that sound is here.

Good cheap interfaces?!

I've been out of the loop for a good two years/ looking to get back into recording. Anyone know of any mid line interfaces that are good. Looking for 2 inputs- nothing fancy. Just good converters. Never been a huge fan of pro-tool gear.

I've been saving for a Focusrite Saffire - http://www.focusrite.com/uk/products/au ... ire_pro_24

I arrived at Focusrite after talking to a professional sound recordist, who told me that Focusrite interfaces have the best pre's. Firewire is a much more stable interface than USB, also.
