P-90s in a silvertone?

Postby studiojb on Sat Jun 13, 2009 11:41 pm

I have a jaguar-style vintage silvertone and I like the way it sounds, but I'm thinking about putting some alnico P-90s from Guitar Fetish in it in hopes it'll sound even better.
I not totally sure what the sound difference will be. Anyone ever done this, or have any thoughts on it?

It would sound thicker, if memory serves me, but the guitar will be more valuable all original. It's not a big money axe, and may not become one, but a newer cheapie to experiment on could be the way to go. Not that I ever ruined a nice vintage piece or anything.....
Good luck in your tone hunt, p90s rock.

ps: the clue for me? "I like the way it sounds"
