60's and '70's Tele bridge saddles-stamped versus cast

Postby steveokla on Sat Oct 30, 2010 9:47 pm

One of the recurring complaints about strats after '71 is the shift to cast, as opposed to stamped, steel bridge components. Tele's, I assume, suffered from a number of the cheapening efforts by CBS (for instance, I assume the nitro clear-coat gave way to the poly clear coat) as well. However, except for the Tele Custom, it appears Tele's escaped the three-bolt neck fiasco: did they also escape from the change from stamped to cast bridge materials as well? Thanks, Steveokla
