DR112 versus DR103/custom 100

Hi all.

I used ot have a custom 100 head, made in the early 70's i think. Lovely amp. But i stupidly sold it.

I am being offered a dr112 pa 100watt head. They look - internally - similar to the custom 100, and are cheaper than buying another custom 100 but what about the sound? I would appreciate feedback please...

I've never been able to compare them but I use a DR-112 as my main guitar amp and it is great!
You won't regret getting one, even if it isn't a DR103. Let's be honest, if it is a driven tone you're expecting then you're looking at the wrong amp. These things go LOUD but have an enourmous headroom so it stays clean for ages but the sound is spot on Hiwatt and it takes pedals really well. I use my strat through an EHX Soulfood into the Hiwatt for a slightly driven tone. Don't need anything else anymore.

I've posted some soundclips on this board a few years ago, here's the link. Mind you, I still used a fuzz back then. DR112 sound
