Gretsch 6158 / 6159 "Bass Amp"

Here's a Gretsch 6158/6159 schemo that I had a hard time finding...I sent it to schem heaven but it never was added. Maybe it's the same as others. The amp I worked on had a metal logo on the grill said Bass Amp. 2x12 combo. I think it was the 6159...been a while. Sweet sounding!

Coupla interesting things in there: the 'standby' just mutes the signal, it doesn't turn the B+ off or anything like that.

It shows 30 volts across a 200 ohm cathode resistor = 150 mA (2 tubes) * (400-30)volts = 28 watts each... they used to bias cathode-biased amps pretty hot back in the day.

This and other schematics have been readily available in Jack Darr's book "amplifiers" isbn 0-672-21443-1 for many years. mullardel34.
