Resistor Question

Postby herbiedeez on Fri Apr 04, 2014 1:33 am

New to the forum. Glad I found it! I am repairing an old Gibson amp and the schematic calls for a 500 ohm resistor from 5y3 rectifier pin 8. It also shows 350 volts just before the resistor. What wattage should the resistor be? Thanks in advance!

The current there must be something in the ballpark of 100 mA or less, so I squared R is 5 watts... might be best to go to 10 watts... but what amp is it? We could make a better estimate with more information...
