Output transformer settings

Could i use this O/T in a Champ with 6V6 on the 4000 ohm primary impedance setting?

Speaker: 8 ohm

You could probably make that work, but what you really want is a single-ended transformer, not a pushpull. And it's not just a matter of ignoring the extra half-winding --- the core design is different because the single-ended has a larger magnetic field in it...

Thanks for your reply. I just happen to have one of them in my box of bits and wondered what i could use it for. Can you think of a small push-pull amp that uses push-pull 8w OT?

Guitar amp ot's are usually much smaller than hifi ones of similar rating, so if it's an 8 watt hifi one you could build something with 6v6 or el84 that puts out say 15 watts.

Yes, when I said something like a 15w amp with 6v6's or el84's, I meant a guitar amp. Lots of circuits like that.
