Has anyone tried out the new 20 watt Egnater amp? You can swap EL84s and 6V6s in it. The price is right, ony $599.

i have played it with the egnator 4x12...
played a les paul classic through it...its a damn cool amp.
very classic marshall sound. It can get pretty loud. The distortion is not metal, but a very hard overdriven plexi sound.
Harmonically rich sounding without the brittle highs.
I thought it was cool that you could turn a dial to mix the el84's and 6v6's but turning the pot between the two sounds like crap.
If the pot is half way, it sounds like crap.....
i would do one set or the other. The test is really just grab a guitar and head down to guitar center and rock out on it for awhile.
and if its a saturday, crank it up and play sweet child of mine 5 or 60 times....they love that :D

I like it a LOT. I hate to say "I like it for the price" as it is a GREAT amp on its own. I have not had a chance to crank it to test the bottom end response, but the low level tones are very, very nice.

I recorded leads with that amp head running through my Budda 2x12 closed back cab. GREAT cutting tone!

i have played the 20, but chose the 30 for the slight bump in wattage, dual channels, and the "silent record" option.. which supposedly switches in a speaker load and as i discovered just the other day works VERY well!
