Valve JR

Postby parkhead on Sun Feb 07, 2010 2:42 pm

I know people have been messing with these for a while.
I was pretty unimpressed with the factory tone and have given these a PASS....

Until I took a look at the schematic and realized that they are basically a tweed champ with a pair of 1 meg resistors in the middle in a network to kill the gain,
one goes to ground and one adds series resistance between the stages

So I Picked on up and made it a CHAMP

I asked a buddy for his opinion and he kept the amp ...
the thing sounds that good

here's the mod clip

The vids are set to private, so we can't see them. :(

I bought a pre-modded version frm RAT in the UK (added valve rectifier too)
Sounds good to me , especially through a 2x12

I have one I left stock with the factory 1x12, but I built an MXR Dist+ clone pedal for it and it rocks.
