Fender "Cowpoke" P-Bass Special -- thoughts?

I'm pretty sure that this week I'm going to trade a Dean 79 Z I don't really use much for one of these from 1990 -- I've always been really curious, but not too familiar. What do you guys think about these basses?

I'd not heard of those 10 minutes ago. But after doing some reading up on them they do seem to be well loved by those who love them. :D They're a nice shape too.

Finally took this out to some gigs this weekend, so there are a couple of pics. A dude sold me a set of Nordstrands used for only about a month, so I'm gonna rip out the active electronics and put them in soon. The neck is really unusual -- very shallow and wide. Takes some getting used to, but it still feels pretty great.
