Markbass combo or heads

Postby Cy on Sat Sep 06, 2008 5:29 am

I'm looking for a portable bass amp, either combo or head and small cab.
I've heard a lot about the Markbass amps, especially the CMD 102P...anybody play one? Thoughts?
Thanks for any help.

I own a Little Mark II and love it. Unbelieveably huge tone and volume for an amp of that size. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I've heard mixed reviews of the MarkBass speakers & cabs, though...it's probably worth checking out, but you may find more flexibility in a head/cab pairing.

If you're thinking "light" and "little" you might want to look at the Genz Benz Shuttle.

A kid that's played bass for me in a couple of projects has one- I was pretty impressed. About the size of a Bible, 600w, a shade under 5 pounds.

Yes, I said "under 5 pounds."

It didn't sound weak or thin or "lacking" in anything. I A/B'd it with my Seymour Duncan head and that thing sounded good. Period.

What cab are you using with your Little Mark? Is it powerful enough to push an 8x10?
