At given monent I'm using...

    - an Ampeg PortaBass 250 through a Flite Sound 1x12 loaded with an Eminence Deltalite 2512 (for small, low-level rehearsals; the cab almost weighs less than the amp);

    - a Sound City 120 (with many mods) through a stock Sound City B118V loaded with its original Vega 18;

    - a Hiwatt 100 (DR-103) through two Sound City 4x12s loaded with WeberVST "California" bass speakers;

    - a Hiwatt 400 (DR-405) through a Swanson faux-Hiwatt 2x15 loaded with one Gauss 4580 and one Eminence Deltalite 2515; and my absolute favorite rig...

    - a Sadowsky SA200 through two Subzero K-151 (Karlson) cabs each loaded with an Eminence Deltalite 2515

Best regards!

For louder gigs:

Gallien-Krueger SEB 1200 with Hartke 4x10 and 1x15 cabs

For smaller gigs:

Hartke Kickback 120 combo

Under construction:

1968 Fender Bassman which will eventually be paired with a small 1x15 cab as soon as I find the right speaker. This will be used as an alternative to the Kickback for a more vintage sound.

I used to have a monster bass rig consisting of a Marshall Major, a Fender PS300, 2 Marshall 4x12 cabs and 2 ported 1x18 EVM cabs. Now I have have tinnitus :roll:

Old amps, modern speakers floats my boat. My old been-with-me is a '76 CMI 100W that's basically a Superbass with another of Jim's alternative brand names. A bit of cheap GAS has struck me and I'm rotating:

'69 Laney PA100 Super, '68 Selmer TV100PA, '64 Fradan Echomatic (pretty much like the Watkins Joker, tape echo with 50W valve amp built in) and a 60s Impact 60 head. Valve PAs make for lousy PAs but can be excellent bass heads. The eq's a bit wrong, but it's an easy fix or just live with it and tweak in front of the input.

At home, I use a mid-70s WEM Dominator. Tube Tramp has just done me an excellent looking single 6V6 head for an alternate low-watt tone.

Speakers are usually a 2x10" with lightweight neo-things, I can't remember what I bought now. I'm getting to like a 1x12", now. I bought a pair of old WEM Songbirds that had modern 300W replacement drivers. Low weight, sounds great. I haven't got the back for a stack.

Nothing! :P

No, I just play bass for songwriting purposes and I sometimes go direct with a Avalon U5 DI or I use my 78 Boogie which can be very punchy. I use a Fender Jazz bass (active).
