Peacemaker Question

Postby toddf007 on Mon May 18, 2009 4:04 pm

I've been seeing a lot of Peacemakers for sale at some really good deals. The only tone I can ever find for them is Van Halen. Can they calm down to the level of Sidewinder or Plexi 45 or are they in a whole new gain territory? I'm really liking the voicing one the Coyote, Sidewinder and Plexi more than what I've "heard" from the Peacemaker. Just wondering if it will do the same tones as those?

They are all 3 different animals. The peacemaker is more flexible than the Van Halen clips lead you to believe, but it's still a different tone than the Coyote, sidewinder, or Plexi-45. There were a couple of questions around speakers on a different thread, i've settled on running the PM into a 4X12 cab with Celestion G12H's (often pulling 2 tubes for 50W), the Coyote I run into a 4X12 with 2 G12H's and 2 Blues, great mix between the two sets. Plexi I'm still playing around with but sounds great through the same cab that mixes the G12H and blues.
