I'm back after a year hiatus

Postby shakethebeach on Tue Nov 25, 2014 10:30 pm

Hi everyone. I Last posted November 2013. Spent a year on projects, including some recording at home.

I dragged myself kicking and screaming into the world of social media (barely) by finally getting around to putting up a reverbnation page. I was a little disappointed at the loss of sound quality when you upload. The loss was quite noticeable.

So here is a sample of the things I've been doing:

Since it's an amp forum, I'll post the usuals. :blah:

Breathe Deep ('cuz love is in the air) is a Sade inspired piece. Lyrics by Lisha and yours truly, music by yours truly. Using a '78 2204 with '78 blackbacks, an OCD and Voodoo Labs micro vibe for distortion tones (strat with SDS-1 in the middle), and '70 strat through a '79 2204 through '79 G12-65's for clean. Also used my 18w build for some cleans.

Blast off for Pluto! is a sophisticated look at the juxtaposed concepts of human sexual intimacy, on the one hand, and interplanetary travel on the other. :P  :P  It has a LP Std. on the bridge pu straight into the aforementioned '78 rig for everything but the bridge, which needed a Floyd Strat through overdriven '79 Marshall.

Comfort Me (Turner and yours truly) is a prototype Strat Plus through a BFVC for the wah parts, and LP on the neck through the '78.

Le'Ahi Moonrise is done with the '70 Strat through both Marshalls. The weird smooth tone on the outro is the Micro Vibe with a dying battery. I liked the half effected sound

Yo! If any of you are on Reverbnation, link me up ! !

Let me know what you think. Feels good to be back !

It was either Haiti or Bletchley. I tossed a coin.
