Very cool sign for your rec room...

Might take up a little too much room, perhaps, but still... :P http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2014/10/21/neon_palm_tree_el_mocambo_sign_up_for_sale_on_ebay.html
Ebay bids now hovering around $4K- yes, it's the iconic palm tree neon sign from the famous El Mocambo bar, formerly of Spadina Street Toronto. Saw a lot of great music in this place-from 1973 or so, until I left TO in the mid-eighties. Probably best recognized as the bar where the Rolling Stones recorded their Love You Live album in the late-seventies, in front of a mostly invite-only audience. Also where SRV recorded the great 1983 video of his entire performance fairly early on in his fame.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Mocambo Sorry to see the old dump close down though-my first show there was Ted Nugent & the Amboy Dukes, doing material that would become the Call of the Wild album. Also caught Al Di Meola in the seventies, UK in the eighties, plus a lot of lesser local lights.

The ability to play/make music is a gift that not everyone gets. Those of us who have it should use it.

Asimov:Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today — but the core of science fiction, its essence, the concept around which it revolves, has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.
