Dumble Overdrive Special

Are these worth this type of money ! Sure it was used for Mr Misters big hits (great album I thought) but seriously $99,500 for a Combo.

eBay is proof enough that "there's a sucker born every minute". But in this case, looks like somebody's trying to be the King of the BS game. Probably started out figuring, "If I can sell just ONE . . . !" All it takes is just one fool, and you've just bought yourself plenty of time to discover another.

Anything that cost that much better be attached to a quarter acre of land :!: I think the cork sniffing has got out of hand. So it's a damn good sounding Fender-ish circuit, not :corksniffer: :2cents: $100K good though....

No amp would ever be worth that kind of money to me. And if I ever start to think so, I hope someone will talk me into spending the money on psychiatric treatment instead!

It seems that these vintage pieces grow in value exponentially with time. So, it could slow down to where most guys will ignore this outrageously overpriced gear and get something more practical.

Digging a little deeper I found an interview with the Tech of that (Mr Mister) guitar player who said he used That dumble combo but in combination
with a Jim Kelley amp. So who knows how much of those album tones were the dumble. If your O/T went south how much would your $99,500 amp be worth ?

Maverick is the guy in Charlotte, N.C., who treasures his stuff. He had the Peter Green Les Paul at $1 mil. Jerry Garcia's necktie for about 10 grand. But NEW Dumbles ain't cheap. Howard thinks he invented guitar amps. John Freakin' Mayer uses Dumbles!

Yeah  talk about a Legend in your own mind ! The fact Mayer uses them...... er I'd see that as a negative :laff:

They are nice sounding amps but I've seenthe guts of them and at $99,500 or even $40,000 there aint more than $2000 worth of parts in em.

http://www.photoshop.com/users/marshall ... f37e/view#

So some profile players play em. How many Legendary Players / Recordings have been done using - Marshall , Fender , Vox , Hiwatt.

I would have one at a sane price don't get me wrong , but not at $2000 in parts and $38,000 / $97,500 in BS even if there was only 300 made. They're
only modded up old Fenders to begin with.

Ah that's what you do or don't do ! :laff: You could always make a little Shrine with it, place a framed photo of Alexander (Big Frame) on top
and kneel down and pray before it everyday in your house.

You need a large oil portrait of Mr. Dumble for a proper shrine, lest we forget the velvet ropes... :laff:

I always associate Dumble Tone with this Classic. Don't get no better than this  Who says you need lessons to play guitar , I bet Jeff Beck wishes he
could do this with just his hands :laff:
