Beckman 12ax7s orange logo- red tip.

Dunno for sure. Can you post pics?

A quick google implies that Beckman relabeled tubes. Any codes that you can spot which might indicate who actually made yours?

Chances are, if truly NOS, they're well worth $12. Anytime you can get a strong vintage tube for close to new production prices, it's a no-brainer, IMHO.

Dave

P.S. A painted tip (red or blue) can mean the tube was certified for Medical usage (i.e. higher standard than usual).

Look RCA-ish to me...?

How strong do they test?

Source code of 274 indicates RCA, font gives it away as well. Nice tubes. 8)

The red tips were like NOS prefect and matched sections I think. The other 35-45 regular Beckmann were closer to 80-90 maybe 100% I may buy more but don't have the money right now, and I have RCA 12ax7s and tung sols and like 40 mullard i63 from the 70s with Amperex globe logos. I think tung sol maybe the best sounding American 12ax7 (going by my tube stereo- best clarity/thickness/bass/air) at least their early or mid 50s tubes with the cursive style USA.

Not always the best barometer as far as guitar amps go, but duly noted.

If you know of a stash and aren't in a position to buy more, I'd appreciate hearing about it ;) .
