Utah speakers date codes

That elusive piece of the overall equation, so many options and so little time to test them all — Celestion, Fane, Eminence, Jensen, JbL, Utah, Ceramic, Alnico, 1x12, 2x12, 4x12, 2x10, 4x10, 1x15, 2x15, 4x15, 1x18 and I'm sure there are even more!

The frame style eliminates 50's production. The extra digits are not always indicative of 70's production. You have to use more than just the code to date speakers. The frame type, color, magnet type/style and labels if available to get the complete picture.

Here's a pot with a seven digit EIA code. Think it was produced in the 70's? Looks like the 30th week of 1966 to my eyes....

Here's a pic of my '73 deluxe with original speaker, note the 6 digit code.

After checking some old speakers in my stash it could be either '76 or '66 (label, frame type and code), but again the "x" amount of digits rule for 70's production is not written in stone.

Here's a link to a site with a bunch of EIA codes.

I think Oxfords get a bad rap when someone gets a 40 plus year old amp that has had the speakers thrashed to death and of course they sound "farty". I have two nicely broken in Oxfords from '65 in my '62 bandmaster and there is no issue with great tones from that cab.

I have a Utah driver in what looks like a mid century Lafayette or Acoustic Research cabinet. There are THREE different codes stamped on the speaker frame and paper. 71-447x, 328615 (328=Utah, 6 is year? 56? 66?, 15 is the week of that year --- April.), 106753-5 is stamped on the backside of the cone paper.

Can anyone help me identify this?

Thanks
