Do G12H30's loosen/warm up?

That elusive piece of the overall equation, so many options and so little time to test them all — Celestion, Fane, Eminence, Jensen, JbL, Utah, Ceramic, Alnico, 1x12, 2x12, 4x12, 2x10, 4x10, 1x15, 2x15, 4x15, 1x18 and I'm sure there are even more!

you guys oughta lend your cabs to Kerry and Dubya - they could stump through your home towns as Nov draws near! :D

I am picturing the scene form the "Blues Brothers" where they are driving around promoting their concert - "you girls!"

just imagine a limo with a Marshall 1960A strapped on top. Coupla hours of Hail to the cheif and those celestions wil be purring like kittens.........

SD Page pickups? ... can you tell me more, I don't think I have ever heard of these ... ? :)

I second the "have a cd player" approach ... just have the cab play at a gentle volume for a week in your garage and they should be as good as an old beat-up cone! :D

Duncan has a custom shop that makes Pages pickups and they will make you the same thing that Jimmy is presently using. It takes a month or two to get them and they run $280 for the pair without covers. You can also adjust any of the parameters to your liking but I didn't. Only thing I did was uncovered with gold screws and slugs. Mine are Alnico 5, two wire, balanced windings and they run in the high 7K ohm's for the neck and something like 8.7K ohm for the bridge. I use Holmes in all my other guitars and figured I'd give these a try. I like them because they are slightly hotter and I use my Classic for more of the newer heavy stuff.

SD JP p-ups...what a ripoff...how could they possibly sound any better or different than the many PAF's that are out there already? Big difference from the antiquities, I'm sure...

If all PAF types sounded the same, guess there would only need to be one set on the market. ;)

Just my .02, but guitar speakers are a "mono" speaker. I was under the impression that playing a radio/stereo through it was not good for it, since the signal and frequencies are different. I personally just play the speakers to break them in.
I have a lot of stuff!

Um,....aren't they considered "full range" speakers? Check out the frequency response specifications at any speaker website. ;)

My RI greenbacks(english made) sounded stiff and harsh at first. After some moderate volume punishment, they really started to sound better. They just keep improving, give them some time.
