Dating my Marshall 1960TV cab?

That elusive piece of the overall equation, so many options and so little time to test them all — Celestion, Fane, Eminence, Jensen, JbL, Utah, Ceramic, Alnico, 1x12, 2x12, 4x12, 2x10, 4x10, 1x15, 2x15, 4x15, 1x18 and I'm sure there are even more!

Dating my Marshall 1960TV cab?

I have a Marshall 1960TV cab that I want to possibly confirm the maufacture date; the serial number on it is 1971. I was told a while back that it was 1997. Since it doesn't have the original speakers in it, I can't use that for dating; it has Weber Blue Dogs and Silvers Bells in an X pattern.

I think they started making the TV cabs in the late 80s, so it's no older than that.

I found this tidbit on Reverb:

Marshall cabinets didn't officially include serial numbers until October 1992.

All I can share is the following anecdotal info:

My 2000 1960TV cab's serial plaque appears - and is affixed - exactly like yours. But, my serial number is on a bar code sticker. I haven't peeled it back to see what's underneath.

My cab does not have the backup piece for the Marshall logo. Don't know what to make of that, other than they're probably not from the same production run.
