LESLIE G27 CABINET ANYONE?

That elusive piece of the overall equation, so many options and so little time to test them all — Celestion, Fane, Eminence, Jensen, JbL, Utah, Ceramic, Alnico, 1x12, 2x12, 4x12, 2x10, 4x10, 1x15, 2x15, 4x15, 1x18 and I'm sure there are even more!

LESLIE G27 CABINET ANYONE?

Postby Analogman88 on Mon Aug 03, 2015 9:34 pm

Hey guys,

Anyone have any experience with a Leslie G27? I read some bad reviews because of its particle board exterior, but no complaints of how authentically "Leslie" it sounded. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm wanting to try out an A.C. 30 plugged into a Leslie as soon as my AC30 build is completed.

Thanks!

No experience with that model. Seems like a lotta dough and I'm not sure the top rotor is necessary for guitar.

I'd suggest keeping your eyes peeled for a vintage Leslie model 120 (or 110 or 113). They're 2 speed, bottom rotors with 12" speakers and NO internal amp. So, you could use your AC30 or any other amp of choice to drive them. When they do surface, they're usually priced reasonably, as they're not the mainstream, high-demand models.

Here's a good site for reference: http://www.captain-foldback.com/Leslie_ ... _guide.htm
