Electro-Voice EVM15L for bass?

That elusive piece of the overall equation, so many options and so little time to test them all — Celestion, Fane, Eminence, Jensen, JbL, Utah, Ceramic, Alnico, 1x12, 2x12, 4x12, 2x10, 4x10, 1x15, 2x15, 4x15, 1x18 and I'm sure there are even more!

Electro-Voice EVM15L for bass?

Will the EVM 15L handle bass guitar? I'm getting an Acoustic 406 cab (2x15) and one of the speakers isn't original to the cab. Can I try the spare EVM15L I have or will I damage it with bass?

Provided it's healthy and you keep the power below 200 WRMS, it should be fine:

Free air resonance is 60Hz. The cab/port will have to do the work below that. The Series II description even mentions it working for bass players who want a brighter sound.

The Pro-Line version is rated at 400 WRMS:

...Hey! I played that song when it was new...
