Celestion G12 Alnico T1095

That elusive piece of the overall equation, so many options and so little time to test them all — Celestion, Fane, Eminence, Jensen, JbL, Utah, Ceramic, Alnico, 1x12, 2x12, 4x12, 2x10, 4x10, 1x15, 2x15, 4x15, 1x18 and I'm sure there are even more!

I've just joined and I'm looking for some help with a particular speaker.

It's a Celestion G12 Alnico T1095. I've searched and cannot find any info. I believe it's from Oct 1965 as it's marked 30KG around the gasket. It also has 41/868/009 on the back of the cone which is smooth not ribbed. If anyone has any info I would be most grateful.

The smooth cones are usually not guitar speakers, and will probably sound horrible with any distortion. Should be OK for clean though. T1095 is probably an old PA speaker. This is probably why it was omitted from the T number list in the doyle book. He omitted most of the 'irrelevant' speakers for guitarists.

You could get it reconed with a guitar cone though. I have done one in the past, same model. Sounded great once reconed.
