Gretsch/Valco 6165 Variety Plus Tremelo

I'm in the process of re-capping this all original amp. So far so good. One thing I've noticed is the Tremelo Speed only goes so slow. From about 10-6 o'clock (turning counter-clockwise) the speed doesn''t change much from its slowest setting, which to me isn't as slow as I would like. Any idea what this would be an indication of? Perhaps the pot needs to be replaced?

I don't have a schematic in front of me but in some amps there is a couple of ceramic disks in the tremolo circuit and changing them from .02 to a .01 will lower the speed. One of these caps may have gone south creating your problems, this might be worth looking into.
