'51 Stromberg Carlson lunchbox

I dug out my little vintage lunchbox yesterday for a tube change.

The amp is a single ended 6L6 powered, 5Y3 rectified and has 6SJ7 metal can octal preamp tubes. I replaced the old tired coke bottle 6L6 it came with for a JAN Sylvania 6L6WGB and the 5Y3GT with a another military type, '50s brown base Sylvania 5Y3WGTA. It has octal 6SJ7 metal cans in the preamp.

What a beautiful old amp. What is the model number on it? I have something similar, and will dig it out sometime, for comparison. Great sound. Thanks for posting.

I was shopping for some vintage glass and noticed a 6SJ7GT. I didn't know there was a glass replacement for the metal can type pentodes in this amp. Naturally I had to have one so I picked up a NOS Sylvania 6SJ7GT for it off of Ebay.
