Selmer Zodiac Twin Thirty Extension speaker output

Postby Robal on Sun Sep 06, 2015 10:13 pm

I have a Selmer Zodiac Twin Thirty amp and would like to use the amp's extension speaker output but it's not the typical 1/4" female jack. Instead, the amp has two small separate individual jacks for a two prong extension speaker plug. Anyone know what type of male plug is supposed to work here and where I can get one? Perhaps this is a design popular in the UK in the 1960s, but I haven't found a US equivalent I can use. (I tried standard banana plugs and they don't fit). If all else fails, I can re-wire the amp with a 1/4" jack, but I would prefer to leave the amp stock. Any help appreciated. Here's a photo of a Selmer chassis with the same sort of jacks:

IMO these output post are banana jack , I don't know why your banana don't fit , Size may be wrong because they are made in China and many size are available ;

interesting. you might find something that will work like the chambonino image here: http://www.partsconnexion.com/conn_ban_main.html
i have a friend looking for the same thing, but will call and find out. i have a twin30 as well...i just swapped the connector out to a cliff. my twin30 ext speaker jack was hooked to 15ohm tap...and unlike original sch you see on vintagehofner site.....some OTs actually have 4, 8, & 16 taps (OT is 6.6ka-a UL)...at least mine did and a friend's thunderbird twin30 did (identical OTs).
looking at this now...i wonder what KT77s, 5881s or 6L6s would sound like in these things...or even KT66s

I'm running Gold Lion KT77s in my Twin 30 right now - I'm still sorting out a preamp issue but so far I like the sound of them, and bonus that they are able to stand up to use in that amp.

Would love to exchange notes with you both sometime about how your amps are set up, tube choices, etc. Not often you get a chance to discuss these amps with other owners.
